Laptops to Encourage 1,100 Students
The Punjab Education Department organized a grand event Jashn STEM in which this event focused on showcasing the talents of students in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Arts Design. The major collaboration was with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, Global Partnership for Education, and United Nations Children’s Fund. More than 1,100 winners selected from 275,000 students participated from all over Punjab. Laptops to Encourage 1,100 Students.

All the cash prizes were given to the students at the end of the event along with certificates of merit. There were students from all districts of Punjab attending this exhibition and presenting their finest creations. On this occasion, the students and teachers expressed hopes for the future that the Punjab Government would continue to be the organizer of such competitions to alter the scenario of scientific and technical education.

STEM Competition
At Jashn STEM, teachers themselves participated in great numbers alongside students; thus, 14,000-plus teachers presented their STEM models. A total of 110 out of these models were displayed while 7 best models were evaluated for cash prizes. These included contemporary scientific inventions, unique engineering concepts, mathematical models, and works of art and design.
Prize Distribution and Laptop Distribution Announcement Among Students
Cash prizes worth 1.4 million were distributed among the winning students, which further enhanced their creative abilities. Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat visited the Jashna STEM and while encouraging the students, he gave the good news that all 1100 selected students will also be given laptops. He said that getting laptops equipped with modern technology will further promote scientific innovation and research spirit among the children.

Improvement of Modern Scientific Facilities in Public Schools
The Education Minister further said that the upgradation of scientific and IT labs in government schools of Punjab is underway so that students can be provided with modern education opportunities. He announced that spoken English classes will also be started soon in public schools so that students can be prepared for international competition.

Parents and Relatives Participated Enthusiastically
The parents and relatives of the students also participated enthusiastically in the Jishan STEM and appreciated the creative efforts of the students. The parents said that such events not only enhance the scientific thinking of the children but also provide them with an opportunity to move forward in the practical field.
